Who Do you Trust?

I watched a GREAT video the other day by my friend Diane Hochman and it made me think.. of course…

I did a video this morning in reaction to her video.. Mine is more about who can you really trust online?

Who can you trust when it comes to picking a mentor, a training, a tool?

Here is Diane’s Video:

So try it out today.. Find someone you think is a leader, find someone you think is the Guru of Gurus… and see if they respond to you..

Oh, and don’t forget, give me some love here and leave a comment or share it on your favorite social site. And… be sure to visit Diane Hochman too!

I loved your review Melissa! It’s so true about encountering so many people advertising success out there! Let’s stay honest, real and give a true message…like the one you give in your video. By the way, I really like you look with no lipstick…It suits you perfectly…

  2. So brave to be all natural for your video.Since you are young you can get away with it. :) But I do agree with Diane’s video about false people and tactics. We have to research before we buy or sign up with someone. Many things out there that are not as good as they seem.
I will always wear makeup when I video though.I am too old to be as natural as you. LOL Great subject here. Thanks!

  4. Hey Melissa,
I did see that video that Diane Hochman did and had to laugh when I read the title. OK so I can honestly say you talk the talk and walk the walk. I did that to you not too long ago and guess what you picked up the phone we talked for a minute you called me back answered some questions for me and then followed up with me. I liked you I liked you message and knew you were a real person.

I always want to know who I am buying from, working with, or communicating with.

Thanks for keeping it real Melissa! ;-)
    Have a great day!

Melissa … GREAT vid … GREAT message … GREAT truth !!

Moving past EGO and getting comfortable at an authentic CORE level is what differentiates the posers from the real players … and that includes being accessible to people in a very high touch way.

I was shocked the first time I called Diane Hochman on the phone and she actually answered. That has led to a GREAT relationship with her and a good feeling about doing business with her !! And isn’t that what all of this is about?

Can’t tell you the number of times I tried contacting other “experts” … no phone number, no email, no contact form … no nothing except the BIG RED BUY MY STUFF NOW BUTTON. Ummmmm … thanks but no thanks!!

By the way … LOVE the no makeup look !! Stopped wearing makeup centuries ago … now people just have to deal with the warts, wrinkles and wattles ..LOL

    Blessings to YOU !!!

  6. I left a comment on Facebook but I will say it here as well…

    Bravo!

As ore and more of us speak up and speak out about this
stuff we will be able to help so many people avoid the
Lipstick Wearing Pig and Falsie trap.

Thanks for adding the tip that contacting a person will give you
a true idea of what is to come…

I just want everyone to remember that sometimes the biggest and
best mentors have a back log of calls and emails to return.

They sincerely WANT to get to everyone…it’s just not possible.

(Very different if they are selling you a product–They MUST have customer service)

Do your research and figure out if it’s worth working hard to get to know someone.

    Often times it is.

Great stuff Melissa and THANKS for the shout out!

Thanks Diane! I was so blown away by your video, I went back to watch mine.. the ones with lipstick. LOL.

I am still learning from you, even from afar, and love your work.

You are right, about having trouble returning calls.. even if it takes some time, at least if someone makes an attempt to connect, you know it isn’t a falsie.. :)

Hi Ana, Thanks for your comments here! I am very real and very approachable, it is something I pride myself in and hope other people can do as well. To make those strong connections, we have to be open, real, and approachable. Right?

  11. Hi Melissa,

I love this topic! Online world is tough to know whom to trust especially in the economy of “value marketing” i.e. people are aiming to give before they get to attract business so it can be really tough to know who is really being genuine. I respond to every email (spams aside) to anyone who has questions about internet marketing, regardless of the outcome. It’s wonderful that you have the same philosophy.
