The Difference between Arriving or Getting Lost

What is it like when you get in the car to travel to an unknown place, without a map or GPS?
Isn’t it so much fun going in circles and then finally giving in to ask a gas attendant how to get to your destination?
The Map or TomTom (or now our Cell Phones, even) .. This is the Difference between Arriving or Getting Lost.
Just like traveling, our business journey needs a map, a direction… what is that map? You guessed it.. Goals.
Everyone must set goals to reach a specific point in order to grow your business and stay ahead.
We may not realize this, but goals, written out, are truly essential to a healthy, well functioning business!
Our daily journey without goals could mislead us and make us land somewhere else rather than to the place where we meant to go.
We have all heard the term, that if we don’t have goals we are like a traveler without a compass.
That is why, it is truly necessary to set your own long term and short term goals. The same ap plies here, in a home based business!
It is hard to achieve big goals in a single stretch, so it is essential to break up a large goal into simple steps, smaller goals, so that you can take actionable steps to achieve those goals.
Make sure you take time during the day or even at the end of your day, to begin to set your goals without any distractions.
Write down your goals and categorize it into simpler tasks which help you to achieve the specific goal more efficiently and faster.
What I do, personally, is this. I have a 1 year goal. Then, I break that down into 90 day goals. These are my “long term goals”. So, on a big white board, I have my one year goal. Then, I have my four smaller goals; these are my 90 day goals. Then, I have them broken down into monthly goals!
So… at the beginning of every month, I have a monthly goal to attain and work for, which ultimately contributes to my 90 day goal and then my 1 year goal!
Here is a picture of my Goal Setting Plan. You can see I have it broken down into 4 90 Day Goals, and then Monthly Goals!
Once you have a plan in place, you can then begin taking actionable steps to achieve those plans and goals. Do not let yourself get distracted, stay on course, my ship… and you will find your way!
